Honey, it’s the weekend – Let’s spend it at the Kentucky State Fair!

If you haven’t gotten your fix of the #KYStateFair fun, this weekend is the perfect time and your last chance. Every day offers a little bit of something for everyone. So take a look at some of the highlighted events below and plan out the perfect date weekend, family weekend or a weekend out with friends!

Friday, August 22

10:00 a.m. – Kentucky Farm to School Junior Chef Competition Finals
Start the weekend off with a unique cooking competition that highlights talented high school cooking teams battling it out for the Junior Chef title on the Gourmet Garden Stage in the Lobby of South Wing A.

11:30 a.m. – Neecha’s Amazing Doberman Show
Neecha’s Amazing Doberman Show will amaze all audiences with their incredible stunts. This is like no other dog show and is sure to be fun and exciting for all ages. Head to the South Wing Parking Lot to see this amazing show.

12:00 p.m. – Share A Coke Tour
Can’t find a Coca-Cola with your name on it? Now through Sunday from 12-8 each day you can get your very own personalized Coke Can for free in the South Wing Parking Lot at the Share a Coke Tour exhibit.

12:30 p.m. – FMX Stunt Show
Just after Neecha’s amazing Doberman Show the FMX Stunt Show will be wowing the audiences with the most extreme dirt bike stunt riders in a spectacular, non-stop, action-packed show that showcases routines and tricks. Located in the South Wing Parking Lot.

1:30 p.m. – Cast Iron Chef Competition
See well-known Louisville Chefs Ryan Montgomery of Charr’d Bourbon Kitchen and Lounge vs. Brandon Mitchell of Mitchell & Son Catering battle it out for the title of Cast-Iron Chef on the Gourmet Garden Stage, located in the South Wing A Lobby.

5:00 p.m. – Darrel Griffith
Darrel Griffith from University of Louisville Men’s Basketball 1980 NCAA Championship Team will be in the Passport Health Plan booth in Health Horizons from 5pm – 6pm!

7:00 p.m. – Patrick Henry Hughes
See the talented Patrick Henry Hughes, a multi-instrumental musician from Louisville, Kentucky perform on the Performing Arts Showcase Stage in the North Wing Lobby.

8:00 p.m. – Scotty McCreery with special guest Kelsey K.
End your night at the #KYStateFair with the tenth season winner of American Idol, Scotty McCreery with special guest Kelsey K. in Cardinal Stadium. This concert is free with paid gate admission.

Saturday, August 23

9:00 a.m. – Kentucky State Fair Cheer and Dance AmeriCheer Championship
See cheer and dance teams as they vie for the championship trophy in various divisions in the South Wing C Ballroom.

12:00 p.m. – Midway Opens
Ride traditional fair and carnival rides in the Midway. Unlimited ride wristbands are $25.

1:00 p.m. –Miller’s Border Collies
Executing their agile herding techniques, Miller’s Border Collies are a family favorite. Audience members can watch as the dogs perform their best tricks including Frisbee catching. Located in the West Wing Show Ring.

7:00 p.m. – World’s Championship Horse Show Finals
The World’s Championship Horse Show is the world’s richest and most prestigious horse show. More than 2,000 horses compete for over $1 million in awards. See the finals in Freedom Hall. This is a ticketed event.

8:00 p.m. – Joan Jett & the Blackhearts with special guest Devour the Day
End your night at the #KYStateFair with greatest hits from Joan Jett & the Blackhearts with special guest Devour the Day in Cardinal Stadium. This concert is free with paid gate admission.

Sunday, August 24 – The final day of the #KYStateFair.

11:30 a.m. – The Chipper Experience
See comedy and magic collide with flying turtles and dangerous medieval weaponry juggled. Also see hilarious improv and fun-filled audience participation. Located on the Select Kentuckiana Chevy Dealers Family Stage.

2:00 p.m. – Draft Horse and Mule Pull
A favorite of Fairgoers, a team of two horses or two mules are judged based on the distance they pull the sled that is weighted. This event is located in Broadbent Arena.

4:00p.m. –MercyMe
Make a memorable ending to your 2014 #KYStateFair experience with MercyMe in Cardinal Stadium. This concert is the final Turf Series Concert and is free with paid gate admission.
