Oak Ridge Boys with special guest Belles & Whistles sponsored by Hillshire Farm
On Sunday, August 23 the Oak Ridge Boys with special guest Belles & Whistles will perform for FREE at the Kentucky State Fair, as part of the Turf Concert Series in Cardinal Stadium at 8 p.m.
This Knoxville, Tennessee country and gospel quartet has been together since the 1940’s. They started out performing gospel songs in nearby Oak Ridge, Tennessee. During the mid- 60’s, they began to focus solely on country music. The quartet produced multiple hits such as, “Elvira,” “Bobbie Sue” and “American Made.” The Oak Ridge Boys have taken home five Grammy Awards along with 14 other prestigious music awards ranging from Academy of Country Music Awards Top Vocal Group, to the GMA Dove Awards Country Song of the Year.
Country mother-daughter, singer/songwriter duo Belles & Whistles are taking the country music world by storm. Jaymie Jones Schiken (mom) and Kelli Schilken have played for audiences all over the country at fairs, clubs, radio shows and festivals. They can be heard on over 70 radio stations across the USA, are in 8,000 retail outlets and streamed on CMT.com, GACTV.com and ZUUS Country. Two of their songs, “Boy Like You” and “Princess” have gained international video airplay. Fans can expect something bigger than two voices in harmony from the duo.
