Happy Together Tour sponsored by Habitat for Humanity
The Happy Together Tour will perform for FREE at the Kentucky State Fair on Thursday, August 27 at 8 p.m. as part of the Turf Concert Series in Cardinal Stadium.
The “Happy Together” Tour named after The Turtles’ 1960 hit song, “Happy Together,” combines multiple rock artists to give concertgoers a unique experience all in one night! The Happy Together Tour will feature The Turtles, The association, The Cowsills, Mark Lindsay, The Buckinghams and The Grass Roots.
The headliner of the tour, The Turtles featuring Flo and Eddie started the tour 31 years ago. Vocalists Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman, known as Flo and Eddie lead the group. “Happy Together,” “Elenore,” “It Ain’t Me Babe” and “She’d Rather Be With Me,” are some of their hits.
The Association is a 1960 California rock band. Their hits include, “Along Comes Mary,” “Never My Love” and “Windy.” They were also the leadoff band at the legendary 1967’s Monterey Pop Festival.
The Buckinghams were one of the top selling acts in 1967. They had a NO.1 hit “Kind of a Drag,” and Billboard Magazine named them, “The Most Listened to Band in America.” Other hit songs include, “Don’t You Care,” “Lawdy Miss Clawdy,” I call Your Name” and “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy.”
