Charlie Daniels with special guest Cold Ford will perform for FREE at the Kentucky State Fair on Friday, August 28 at 8 p.m. as a part of the Turf Concert Series in Cardinal Stadium.
Country singer, fiddler and songwriter Charlie Daniels is known for performing southern rock, country and bluegrass. He not only sings but plays the guitar, bass, fiddle and violin. Best known for his hit song “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” he received the Grammy Award for best Country Vocal Performance in 1979. He is a recipient of the Pioneer Award from the Academy of Country Music Awards, declared a Living Legend by the Nashville Network and a member of the Grand Ole Opry. He also co-wrote a song “It Hurts Me” with Joy Byers in 1964 for the rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley.
Songwriter, musician and Athens, Georgia native Colt Ford has released five studio albums. His hit songs include “Back,” “Drivin’ Around Song” and “The High Life.” Ford as collaborated with other artists such as Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson, Jermanine Dupri and Adrian Young of No Doubt.
